Safaa Albea provides collection services for properly segregated needles, syringes, lancets, blades and other eligible clinical sharps placed in suitable puncture-resistant containers.

Sharps are handled within the approved H1 Medical and Clinical Waste category. Sharps are not a separate approved category.

Sharps containers

5-litre sharps containers

Suitable for lower-volume clinical sites such as small dental clinics or GP rooms.

10-litre sharps containers

Suitable for higher-volume sites and multi-chair clinics.
Sharps containers may be supplied according to the service arrangement, required size and availability.
Loose sharps, damaged containers or improperly packaged sharps must not be presented for collection.

Is Sharps Waste a separate approved category?+

No. Sharps Waste is provided within the Medical and Clinical Waste service category — not a separate approved category.

Do you supply sharps containers?+

5-litre and 10-litre puncture-resistant sharps containers may be included. Size, quantity, availability and pricing are confirmed in the service proposal.

Can we use our own containers?+

Containers must be suitable rigid, puncture-resistant sharps containers. Details are confirmed during onboarding.

How often are sharps containers collected?+

Weekly, twice-monthly, monthly, quarterly or on-call — depending on generation rate.

Can veterinary clinics use this service?+

Yes. Veterinary sharps fall within our Sharps Waste service scope.

Do you serve home healthcare providers?+

Yes, under scheduled collection arrangements.

What if a container is overfilled?+

Overfilled containers cannot be safely closed. Contact us for replacement guidance before the next collection.

Are collection records provided?+

Signed collection records and supporting documentation may be provided where applicable.
